What is Allyship?
Allyship is about using the voice and opportunities afforded to allies as a way to uplift the minority voices around us, in this case the LGBTQIA+ community.
Allies are the key to community inclusion. DRPA offers a opportunity for allies in the Desi community to learn how they can support the LGBTQIA+ community and their families, as well as to promote community wide acceptance. DRPA is an all volunteer network that provides a supportive space for South Asian LGBTQIA+ people and their families while recruiting allies to support acceptance of diversity in gender identity and sexual orientation.
Our Allyship Programs
DRPA currently has two allyship programs running: an Ask Me Anything discussion and a Family Book Club.

Our groups are led by volunteers who are themselves LGBTQIA+ or parents and allies, and are intended to provide peer led support. While guest experts may be invited to speak on certain topics, we do not provide advice or medical information. Topics may vary, the focus of the group is to learn to support and affirm your child and/or loved ones.
